PicWits is a game of photographs and captions, and the aim is to match them together. Like the game Apples to Apples, submissions are judged by a player. Players are dealt eight photo cards each, the judge turns over a caption card, and then each player submits the most fitting caption from his or her hand. The player whose photo the judge selects as most fit to the caption wins the round—and that caption card. The player to get a certain number of winning captions (the number depends on how many players there are) first wins the game.

There are 504 photo cards which accommodates repeat play as well as large groups of players. They range from the mundane to goofy—from a cute donkey face to a gorilla frying an egg, to smiley-faced haystacks. The photos and the captions are creative. It's as entertaining to play PicWits just for laughs as it is to win.

PicWits is an entertaining party game with lots of potential for repeat play. The cards themselves are so compelling that when left by our reviewer on her coffee table, they alone sparked impromptu fun with drop-in guests.
