Review:

Q-BA-MAZE is an impressive toy made up of lots of colorful, translucent building cubes that are used to construct pathways for metallic marbles to travel. There are three types of cubes (single exit, double exit, and bottom exit) and specialty pieces (trampoline, coaster tubes, cascade tubes, and vortex tray) that can be arranged in limitless ways for hours of creative play. The cubes easily interlock in two ways to facilitate tall structures to satisfy the builder, while the five color pieces (red, green, blue, yellow, and clear) allow the artist to create sculptures like the fish shown on the product package. Children develop spatial relationship skills as they make connections and achieve proper angles for marble movement.

While lots of design ideas are available on the manufacturer's website, this package contains instructions for building the Mega Stunt Tower. This impressive, nearly 3-foot tall, structure uses all of the specialty pieces to create dozens of marble pathways. It is a good place to start to learn how to put the pieces together and to learn how to follow the difficult building directions.

Parents were concerned about marbles coming out of the sculpture from all sides and going all over the place, especially when 10 or more are put in the maze at a time. It would be useful to have a marble-catching base for the structure, both to catch marbles and to provide support for towering mazes.
