Flash is a fun, quick, portable game for up to six players. It includes six sets of dice in different colors (standard dice except that the one-spot is replaced by a lightning bolt), six large numbered scoring tiles, a scoring pad with pencil, and a carrying bag. The illustrated instruction sheet gives simple, straightforward game instructions and provides two game variations.

Something like a cross between Yahtzee and poker, players roll all of their dice, trying to meet eight challenges: (1) six of a kind, (2) 3 pairs, (3) all even, (4) all odd, (5) three of a kind, (6) four of a kind and a pair, (7) straight, and (8) flash (all lightning bolt symbols). Players continue to quickly and simultaneously roll as many dice as necessary to meet the challenge then call out "FLASH". Other players continue rolling until they also meet the challenge. Players score points by collecting the highest scoring tile available when they finish. Additional rounds are played until all challenges have been completed. The player with the most points at the end of eight rounds is the winner.

Our family loves quick games like this before dinner, and this is the latest of our favorites; it is much more fun than expected based on the packaging. I thought the honor element in the game (as players individually achieve objectives) is unusual and could provide an opportunity to cheat, but someone can win the game as fast or faster than someone can cheat, so what's the use? This is a keeper.
