Review:

Spin Master Toys has made just about everything that can fly. Their latest airborne toy is the Air Hogs Atmosphere, a remote-control mini helicopter that responds to its proximity to your hand or other surfaces.

Built with an infrared sensor embedded in its bottom, this round, plastic aircraft (with propeller blades protected inside a plastic cage) detects solid surfaces up to six inches below. When it does, it hovers in place. Move your hand or other surface upward toward it, and the chopper moves proportionally upward—like a reverse yo-yo, no strings attached. To move it along in a different direction, just nudge it.

While the Air Hogs Atmosphere does not offer much play variety, it will capture kids' imaginations and get them thinking about the science behind the toy's unique flying power.
