Review:

The Sofia the First Magical Tea Time Game is a fun and interactive game for little girls having a princess moment. The game is made of sturdy cardboard for the game board, and its pieces have regal flair. There are 4 pink plastic teacups that each have a spinner in the middle which tells the player what color to use next. The pink teapot, which is meant to be squeezed, is made of a tough rubber.

The purpose of the game is to gather the desserts matching the color shown on your teacup. The game is intended to develop matching skills and manners. In fact, girls enjoyed this game most when they role played as polite princesses.

Magical Tea Time's clever and original game pieces hold attention without feeling gimmicky. On each turn, children blow air on their teacup's spinner using the rubber teapot. They must find a sweet that matches the side shown on their cup as they try to fill their plates. Manners are a big part of playing. Princesses are to keep their elbows off the table, say things like "please" and "thank you", and even learn to pour a cup of tea for their friends before themselves.

Perhaps more importantly, Magical Tea Time also teaches young girls to follow directions while developing language skills. Players follow directions according to the card that is chosen, and must remember where to place their dessert or whose turn it is to "pour" from the teapot. Language skills are reinforced simply by the setting, too, and soon enough girls will begin to chit-chat while they play as adults would do in a real tea party.
