National Geographic Little Kids is a fast-paced, beautifully photographed, and engaging nature magazine for young animal lovers. Each issue offers a wide variety of features that are designed to elicit active participation from kids and parents. After a series of brief reading selections about wild animals, the rest of the magazine is devoted to developing observation skills, independent reading proficiency, and counting competence through sorting puzzles, naming games, find-it challenges, and other such activities. Each issue also contains a selection of punch-out, collectible animal cards, with photos of wild animals on the front and a selection of facts on the back.

The activities offered are well designed and age appropriate for preschoolers, and the magazine is sturdy and beautiful to look at. National Geographic Little Kids is best suited for active children who like fast-paced variety and participatory puzzles, and who are less attached to in-depth stories. This nature magazine offers engaging activities for a wide range of children, making it a good choice for families with siblings between three and six.
