Ansel & Clair: American Bowl is an app that tests knowledge of American history and culture with the opportunity to play a bowling game thrown in as the prize for correct answers. When starting the app, users log in by creating a username and selecting the level of difficulty of the questions. Since each user can have their own login, it is possible for parents and teachers to access how many questions were answered correctly in each category and to use this app as an indication of a child's knowledge level.

Based on the difficulty of the questions, eight topic categories are presented. All of the categories are selected by default but can be narrowed down to just one by the user. The categories differ by difficulty and include such topics as "Amazing American," "Inventions and Discoveries," and "She's A Trailblazer". A correct answer gets a check mark and a brief explanation of the answer. Then, as the prize for answering correctly, a bowling ball rolls down a ramp to the bowling alley. This turns into a test of physics as the user bowls. A strike wins the ability to free an eagle and a custom bowling ball. The game becomes more complex because as eagles are freed, the configuration of the bowling pins changes. This app can be geared to a school or home environment and the added incongruous whimsy of the bowling game and freeing bald eagles, makes learning and answering history questions a fun pastime.
