Review:

Tedd Arnold adds another book to his "Fly Guy" series with this sweet off-the-wall picture book about human boy Buzz and his best pal, an insect named Fly Guy, "the smartest pet in the world." During a day in the park with Buzz–--a picnic, playing chase, eating lunch, watching clouds–--Fly Guy realizes that he doesn't have a pet of his own. Buzz takes him to a pet shop, but dogs, cats and frogs aren't a good match. In the park, a worm is "too slimy," a spider is "too tangly" and a cricket is "too jumpy." Who does Fly Guy have the most fun with? Buzz, his best friend–--and surprise, his best pet, too. This interspecies friendship, fueled by affectionate warmth, is perfectly plausible in Arnold's quirky world of imagination, digitally visualized with deft, goggly-eyed charm.
