Review:

Today's families are more spread out than ever before and staying connected with one another can be challenging. Kindoma Storytime will help shorten the miles and time apart; it's a video-chat app that allows users to read together - in real time. With the app installed, and a solid online connection, the chosen e-book appears on both users' screens; page turning is synchronized and when one reader points to the text or image on the screen, a duplicate shadow hand appears on the other user's screen. This way, everyone is on the same page, literally and figuratively.

The length of stories varies and so does the amount of time that it takes to get through one, because children stop and talk about the story and other related topics as they go. And that's key - to the relationship and the learning. Our average chat was between ten and fifteen minutes. We strengthened our bonds, built our vocabulary, and asked a lot of questions.

The app is free and includes access to ten books. Additional titles are available for purchase via several options: individual stories a la carte; or with a subscription plan ($6.99/month or $29.99/bi-annually), with access (as of this writing) to over 250 books.
