Sesame Street's Let's Get Ready is designed for parents to teach children about emergencies and how they can be prepared for them. The app features beloved and trusted Sesame Street characters in a variety of educational games, activities, and videos. There are four main sections in the app: Emergency Preparedness Tips, Emergency Tools, More Resources (e.g., websites), and Children's Activities. By singing and even recording "The Name Song," children learn their and their parents' names in a fun, engaging and highly memorable way. In the "Where I Live" activity, they take pictures of their homes which are then saved for future use. And, in the "Special Helpers" game, they learn about community helpers such as police officers, fire fighters, and doctors/nurses. All of this information can help children feel more prepared and more in control in the event of an emergency; and, with this knowledge, they may be less likely to panic should one take place.

There are also helpful features for parents: customizable emergency kit checklists, storage for important contacts, tips for discussing emergency preparedness and more.
