Yellow Scope Foundation Chemistry Kit for GirlsSpring 2015 Toys
This beginning chemistry kit includes quality lab equipment including three beakers, safety goggles, a thermometer, a timer, and a stir stick. It also includes chemical reagents: red colored tablets, yellow colored tablets, blue colored tablets, red colored dye, yellow colored die, blue colored die, sodium bicarbonate, citric acid and a votive candle. Additionally, it contains a variety of art supplies: a chalk cloth, white chalk, twelve colored pencils, a pencil sharpener, and a mini pencil with eraser. In short: everything needed to conduct dozens of fun and engaging chemical experiments such as: do molecules move faster in hot or cold water and how does temperature affect the rate of chemical reactions.
The manual is packed with detailed, illustrated instructions, places to record results, and interesting facts about chemistry. More than simply presenting experiments, the kit helps users understand why and how they work. It also encourages users to develop and conduct their own experiments.
Some of the comments from Parents' Choice Awards testers included:
"I hope the quality of this kit is sustainable; the tactile quality of the components make the whole idea of the science here seem more solid and less disposable."
"Just because a company offers a science kit to inspire girls, it doesn't have to involve baking, making candy or spa products. Sure, all of those were a hit with my girls, but so were the slime kits and the bottle rockets."
"This kit offers a straight up trip into the world of science for my daughters. No perfume or bubble gum making required."
"I would love my girls to "earn" each button badge from this series. It would also be great for them to have a place to record that earned badge in social media to help spread the girl fever for science."
