Q's Race to the Top is a board game for players between 3 and 7 years of age. The purpose of this game is to help children learn about emotions and emotional intelligence, social skills, self-control, motivation, and empathy. The storybook sets the stage. The main character, a well-intentioned little monkey named Q, sometimes needs help sharing and thinking about how his actions can affect family and friends.

The game is played by rolling a large die and moving the game pieces along a path of colored squares; the first person to reach the top of the tree house wins. Each colored square has a corresponding card with a question and answer, or action that helps players develop a skill. When a player lands on a red card, he picks up a "Do" card, often requiring a silly action be performed. The blue cards are "you" cards and focus on things about "You" such as thinking about your future, using manners, and following rules. The green cards are "Q" cards that the player uses to help Q decide how to handle certain situations.

The age-appropriate game was easy to learn, and fun to play. Our four and six year olds were thinking and analyzing at every turn. Q's Race to the Top game encouraged lots of conversations and even allowed us to expand (like asking what if this happened instead of that, etc…). We'll play this often.
