Review:

When we recognized the Money Savvy Pig with a Parents' Choice Gold Award in 2002, we knew it had staying power - one of the hallmarks of a good "toy." What we didn't know was just how much staying power it would have.

A good toy engages children and prompts them to ask questions. From the minute the Money Savvy Pig is out of the box, the questions begin. What is money? How do I get more? Does it really come from a machine? Why does money make some people happy and others so sad?

Over the years, we've followed the impact of this friendly little pig and the hands-on financial literacy lessons he/she delivers. We've read about the influence these "Save, Spend, Donate and Invest" lessons have had in classrooms and family rooms across the country. The positive outcomes ring loud and clear: bear or bull market, the Money Savvy Pig is a tool that can help shape and sharpen young minds and attitudes about money, and the consequences of how youngsters choose to spend and save. Lessons about money management are lessons about values management. Instant gratification doesn't build strength or character or equity. The power of patience does.

Parents and grandparents, from Boomers to Millennials, want financial stability for their kids' generation. Adults need to guide children to talk and learn about money. The power packed in this 8 ½" x 5 ½" box is a first step in helping parents build a Money Savvy Generation.
