Review:

Frances England's unique heart-infused lyrics and truly inventive music add up to one gorgeous keeper of an album, as well as an irresistible invitation to unplug and explore a world of adventure as close as a kid's backyard, a sidewalk stroll, and a bus ride to school. Observe, listen, and cultivate curiosity urge these memorable songs by England and co-arrangers Dave Winer and Dean Jones. Use a camera, take notes, draw and map your neighborhood, climb a tree and "See What We Can See." Take in the pulsing rhythm of the city ("Street Life" and "City Don't Sleep"). End the day with "Little by Little," a touching "I love you" lullaby reinforcing "the way you look to the sky, always asking why ... How you investigate, appreciate, the wonder in everything"). England's creative depths lyrically and musically continue to surprise and captivate. The bar she sets for herself—and has yet to fail to meet—is a high one, indeed.
