SuspicionFall 2016 Games
Suspicion is quite an enjoyable family board game for 2 - 6 players. It has a familiar tone - it's a little like Clue, and a little like Guess Who? - but with its own unique style. The attractive box with masked cartoon characters holding gems forecasts the fun inside.
The premise of the game is that you are one of ten international jewel thieves who has been invited to a masquerade party in a mansion whose rooms are filled with gems. The object of the game is to determine the identity of the other players, collect as many jewels as you can all while keeping your identity secret. Points are awarded at the end of the game for each correctly identified guest and for the number of jewels amassed. In our experience, more players = more fun.
The colorfully decorated game is well-made, and includes wood guest pawns, sturdy, laminated cards, a deduction pad, and 6 pencils. Illustrated instructions are clear and thoroughly explain game play.
During a turn, a player rolls the dice to determine which pawns are moved and then plays an action card. These cards have two actions that include moving a guest to another room, collecting a gem, peeking at an unused invitation, or questioning other players to help unmask them. Careful observation and good deductive reasoning are the stars of this game.
