Stick StackFall 2016 Games
Stick Stack is a game in which players take turns stacking colored sticks onto an unsteady tower such that the color(s) of the sticks touch the corresponding color(s) of the base. Fortunately, the sticks have ridged edges, so they do not slide off quite as readily as one would expect, but it is still a tricky process as the pile builds up and the tower starts to lean! Players try to keep their scores low, but every stick that is knocked down and not replaced by the end of the round counts against the player.
This classically fun game reminded the players of Jenga or Pick-Up Sticks in reverse. Tension builds as the game goes on. It is entirely possible to get all the sticks balanced on the platform, but more likely several will cascade down during the process; an unsteady hand can lead to disaster. Games can run long; play is supposed to end when one person reaches 11 points, but players can choose to stop after fewer rounds, or even to play collaboratively instead of competitively. This is an excellent addition to any game-playing family's favorites.
