Review:

"One day in Brotown" -- where J. Torres and Sean Dove's highly entertaining comic begins -- three spunky brobots (Kouro, Panchi and Joukei) go fishing and catch an enormous cranky monster all ready to chew up the city. Nonplussed - they're brobots, after all - the three chums "bro-up" and go about the madcap business of saving the day.

With bright bold graphics, the brobots' battle is a vivid and fun one. Sean Dove fuses the Japanese art of Kaiju (the genre that gave us iconic monsters like Godzilla) with robot anime, and throws in a dash of old-school fairy tale. Our heroes have unique robot powers, distinct coloring and features, and an angry building-stomping foe. Writer J. Torres' delightful touch is that they preface almost everything they say with "bro."

The end result is a dazzling rock-em sock-em giant-slaying romp. Both clever and silly, this short but packed comic is guaranteed to get a laugh. Striking art and playful words make it an enjoyable read.
