Review:

A yellow cartoon chick in red boots serves as host for this compendium of jokes, tongue twisters, science and animal facts, easy make-it-yourself recipes, board game play, and a "Let's Move" feature. One page is designated for subject-specific drawings that kids can then submit to the magazine, and there are rebus stories, a "word of the month," and a "Chirp Challenge" that lists actions and accomplishments for readers to check off (tying their shoes, brushing their teeth, "roaring like a lion," being a helper). The inspiration for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's children's series of the same name, this magazine is chock full of smart fun and notable for its sunny tone.
