Kids love to imitate the adults around them, so it isn't surprising that they would like their own cell phones, tablets, and the ilk. Unfortunately, texting and using the internet can be dangerous for younger, less mature children who don't have experience making good choices in the digital realm. Enter VTech's KidiBuzz, a handheld smart device for children aged four through nine years, that looks, feels, and acts like mom's and dad's. The KidiBuzz comes with a USB cable, AC adapter, headphone jack, rechargeable battery, pre-loaded games, utilities, and apps and a quick start guide. And, it features everything you would expect in a cell phone: a web-browser, messaging app, calendar, clock, notepad, calculator, voice recorder, and more. However, it works entirely via wi-fi with no cell phone service required.

The device is preloaded with a variety of educational games and activities, which vary in quality, but can be further expanded from the standard 8GB to up to 40GB via a microSD card (not included). This adds to the device's long-term play and learning values.

The KidiBuzz has excellent safety features and parental controls. The messaging feature can only be used between approved devices. So, there's no risk of your child corresponding with anyone other than those you have approved. And, through the parental dashboard, parents can manage the apps their children access, set time limits, and adjust whenever necessary.
