According to the Super Simple website, these productions began in 2005 when teachers in a small classroom in the suburbs of Tokyo, Japan, wanted to use music as a teaching tool but couldn't find songs that were suitably simple yet effective for educating. Their solution was to create their own songs that were "appropriately paced, lyrically simple, full of space for movement, easily taught through gesture, and FUN!" Their efforts soon expanded to include YouTube videos teaching teachers how to use Super Simple Songs, and today, the Super Simple line is available in DVD, digital, and mobile formats. The DVD The Bath Song & More Kids Songs includes 20 selections and has a total runtime of 40 minutes.

In this collection, the title song, The Bath Song, uses endearing puppets to demonstrate the steps of a thorough bath. The puppet character uses a variety of tools, from soap bar to washcloth to scrub brush, to wash his little puppet body parts while singing, "Can you wash your toes? I can wash my toes. / Can you wash your hands? I can wash my hands. / Can you wash your nose? I can wash my nose, etc., etc." The sequence is entertaining to watch and the simple tune invites young children to sing and pantomime as they're watching the DVD. Later at real bath time, mom or dad can sing along too when it's time to suds up and practice good hygiene habits.

True to its name, the company delivers on its promise of super simple songs. Songs focus on Pre-K skills such as counting; letter, number, and color recognition; and building common vocabulary words. Some selections encourage simple hand and body motions; others teach common tasks, such as cleaning up after playtime. Across the range of animation styles, the art is bright; the simple song style offers consistency. Certainly, some tunes are more appealing than others, but they all provide kids with an opportunity to take a breather from our often fast-paced lives to indulge in a simple musical break.
