Rating: TV Y
Review:

In this delightful short form animated series from publisher powerhouse HMCO, Melia and Jo are mighty smart five-year olds and besties. Billy Aronson and Jennifer Oxley, creators of Peg + Cat, have teamed up here to personify left brain/right brain friends who use their intellect and talent—as well as their hearts— to tackle and solve problems creatively. The language is clever, the music is pitch perfect punctuation, the art direction playful and the sense of humor co generational. Knowing that the characters are based on Amelia Earhart and Josephine Baker is a fun detail, but not at all necessary to fully enjoy the show.

Melia has never met a piece of scrap she can't reimagine and upcycle, and Jo, a natural born performer with an innate sense of adding the artistic to the practical, work together as they breathe life into inventions they're sure will make the world a better place. Collaboration, science, art, and friendship make this a solid gold formula for early learners.

Melia and Jo is available via the Curious World mobile app on the App Store. The subscription plan is $7.99 per month.
