Review:

If only there were more Brandon McMillans in the world. The Los Angeles-based dog expert rescues shelter dogs, trains them and loves them until he can find a happy home for them. Lucky Dog with Brandon McMillan is heartwarming and uplifting.

McMillan doesn't have a magic wand to wave over these left-behind canines. He uses kindness, patience and positive treat-reward training. It is obvious that he loves his job and the dogs love him. His focus is on teaching the seven main commands: Sit, Stay, Come, Heel, Off, No, Down.

Some of these stray dogs are super smart and McMillan will give them agility training with his backyard obstacle course. In one episode, he even taught the dog to tolerate dressing up in costumes because one of the prospective new family members likes to take photos of dogs. When McMillan is done with the pooches, they're irresistible.

If your family has a dog, you might be inspired to watch and try some of the training tips. More than anything, McMillan's show proves that we all should help animals in need of loving homes.
