Review:

Another in an on-going series of compilation albums from PJ Library, the 13 songs in this collection focus on the many aspects of gratitude. As usual, the music styles have a wide range from the conga driven, African influenced, song of appreciation "What Are You Thankful For?" to Joe Buchanan's "Repair," a kind of Jewish Country song which praises the creator for all good things. Along the way, we have Melita Silberstein's graceful song of self-confidence "Be Who You Are," the positive energy of Norah Aronson's "Be Happy," the playful pop of the wonderfully named The Macaroons, singing "Keep in Touch," and a Todd Herzog sung song of friendship, "The Greatest Gift of All." Rick Recht's sweet folk song is about the concept of being a sacred community "Kehilah Kedosha," Joanie Leeds' celebration of true family values in "Love is Love," and Melita and Isaac's gorgeous, cello-enhanced "Eli Eli." While most of the songs are sung in English, some are in Hebrew, others a combination. While the spiritual bent is not for everyone, the songs themselves are about universal truths, and positive affirmations that are common to all.
