Review:
Though Kimmy is introduced to the lovely Chippewa tradition of dreamcatchers by her grandmother, it is their shared time that truly eases Kimmy's troubled dreams. Directions for making on of the circular "amulets" that capture bad dreams is nicely appended, but is Kimmy's discomfort about a family move that moves this story. Grandma gives her quality time, surrounding craft, nature and cooking projects. Kimmy's hands and mind are kept active, as she learns more about her special grandmother. The illustrations are chalky and understated, evoking a true sense of serenity through the themes, the author does a creditable job.
