Review:

Lost In Oz re-imagines a classic tale, with the daughter of the original Dorothy Gale discovering the details of her mom's magical experience. That discovery triggers another tornado and suddenly Dorothy II and her dog find themselves in a similar fantastical predicament. In order to find her way back to Kansas, she must battle bad guys and acquire every magical element in Oz. Nothing more than the survival of the Emerald City is at stake, and it will take courage and ingenuity to prevail.

In "Going Forth," Dorothy and her friends discover a portal but it isn't what they expected. There, evil General Guph finds a way to conjure another tornado that sends the gang on another uncharted journey. Later, in "Saving Cyra," a rescue plan gets complicated when young witch West reaches out to an old enemy for help. And in "We Speak Mirror," Dorothy tries to retrieve a magical belt but it takes ingenuity, and a manipulated mirror, to control Guph's reflection and, hopefully, his thoughts.

Take note, this CGI-animated series is not related to the Tim Burton's 2002 pilot of the same name, nor is it related to the Lost in Oz book series. Young viewers will enjoy the action and appreciate Dorothy's perilous journey in this fresh take on a classic. It's fast-paced yet earnest, and even those who love the original and timeless Wizard of Oz will appreciate the nods to tradition and the intriguing updates.
