Review:
Idioms aren't directly translated from one language to another; they have to be replaced entirely. Translators interpret the idiom and then find a corresponding idiom in the second language that describes the same concept. For example, an important person, a 'big wheel' in English, in Spanish is called a 'pez gordo,' a fat fish. Thirteen Spanish idioms and their English counterparts are on facing pages. Colorful paper cutouts provide literal illustrations of both languages' idioms. Grande Tabor has created an enjoyable learning tool for students of both English and Spanish.
