Martha Blah Blah1996 Picture Books

Hardcover Price: $14.95
Review:Meddaugh's exuberant, comic illustrations of Martha, a family dog who happens to learn how to talk from eating her favorite dish, "Granny's Alphabet Soup," are just garden variety genius. Instead of barking or whining, Martha orders steak for dinner in plain English. Everything's fine until the new owner of the soup company cuts costs by leaving out a few letters, and Martha, after eating her defective soup, manages only gibberish - that is, until she discovers a way to get the missing letters back into every can. Bon appetit!
