Review:
Thirty distinguished authors and illustrators have collaborated to assemble a salmagundi of poems and stories and illustrations touching on the literally over-arching theme of "home." It is, by turns, sad, funny, contemplative. The mix of text and pictures ranges from the exuberant under-the-bed phantasmagoria pictured by Lane Smith to the solitary back-porch meditation of Virginia Hamilton. Although, admirably, a portion of the book's profits go to help those who do not have homes, it's a bit odd that not one of the pieces talks of those who have none.
