Oswald

Fall 2002 Television
Ages: 2 - 6 yrs.
Producer: Nickelodeon
Network: Nickelodeon
Review:
Oswald is an octopus. His best friend is a dachshund dog he calls Weiner Girl. Henry is a penguin pal. Johnny is a snowman friend. Daisy is a fun flower. With simple drawings and simple story lines, the show offers easy-to-watch stories with easy-to-understand lessons. In one, it’s about helping -- Henry has a cold and he’s lent warm woolies and happy hankies to feel better. In another, the lesson seems to be about common sense -- a ladybug flies inside Oswald’s piano and that’s why the sound is off, but it takes a while to figure that out. And in another, Henry wants to fly like other birds but realizes he’s different and must float in a bubble -- until it bursts. Gentle, caring and humorous, Oswald is a nice friend to have.
