All interesting aspects are covered the history, individuals, the incidents, the songs, the activities, the controversial issues. Whenever possible and appropriate, primary source material (letters, diaries, etc.) are included, as are maps, museums, and tools for further research. The same periods of history need to be told from the African American viewpoint: the Gold Rush, Sally Hemmings and Thomas Jefferson, baseball, etc. Yes, this periodical is appropriate and essential for all children.
